What Is Caminito del Rey?
Caminito del Rey, often translated as "The King's Little Pathway", is one of Spain's most spectacular walking routes and one of the most visited attractions in Andalusia. Located within the stunning Desfiladero de los Gaitanes Natural Area, the route follows a series of elevated pathways attached to the cliffs above a dramatic gorge, offering visitors breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.
Originally constructed in the early 20th century to provide access for workers maintaining the hydroelectric power stations in the area, the pathway later gained worldwide fame for its unique location and dramatic scenery. Following a complete restoration, Caminito del Rey is now one of Spain's safest and most impressive outdoor experiences.
